Laurel Library

We’re mixing up literature and cooking in one tasty evening! Read a book about a food, learn and practice one cooking skill needed to make that food, and then taste the food! This month, we will be reading Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast by Josh Funk. Sept. 8 at Laurel Library at 5 p.m. 

Celebrate the beauty of autumn with a little old-fashioned folk art! Join us as we paint a charming fall-inspired design using simple shapes, patterns, and traditional folk-art techniques. Sept. 15 at Laurel Library at 4:30 p.m. Give the libraries a call to sign up. 

The Franklin County Public Library District board will meet at Laurel Library on Sept. 15. The budget hearing is at 5:45 p.m., followed by the board meeting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be held during the library’s normal hours of operation and will run until noon on Sept. 26 at Brookville Library. Join us in giving old, damaged books a new purpose! Patrons will transform discarded books into a useful accordion file for storing notes, papers, cards, and other small items. Sept. 22 at Laurel Library at 4:30 p.m. Give us a call to sign up.
