Please join us on Sat., April 27, 2019 for the formal dedication of the Franklin County Public Library District’s new and unique Ed Baker Civil War Study Room. The program will begin at noon in the Brookville Library’s annex. A short presentation about this extensive collection will be followed by a historical portrayal of Dr. Jacob Ebersole, and tours of the room relating solely to the history of the War of the Rebellion.
Dr. Jacob Ebersole, Civil War Surgeon
Roy Lambert has been portraying Dr. Jacob Ebersole for three years since discovering him as a forgotten doctor of the early days of Aurora, Indiana. Roy has presented nearly one hundred history programs at the Aurora Public Library and was honored to speak at Gettysburg in 2017, as a guest of the Gettysburg Foundation.
Dr. Ebersole was at many of the major battles of the Civil War including the most horrific, Gettysburg. Mr. Lambert will speak in first person, as the uniformed Dr. Ebersole telling of his accounts as a pioneer doctor and surgeon in the Indiana 19th Regiment. This regiment, in addition to ones from Michigan and Wisconsin, was known as the Iron Brigade, one of the most fearless in the War.
Mr. Lambert is presenting this program as a courtesy of the Aurora Public Library District.
