Do you have a question you need an answer for?  Whether you are writing for a school paper, building a family tree, or even looking for a job, at the library, your answer is only a few clicks or page turns away!  Don’t know where to start?  The Franklin County Public Library District has access to the following databases and sites that library patrons can use for free at each branch.  A clerk at the front desk will gladly help you.

  1. Reference USA - The premier source of business and residential information for reference and research.
  2. Heritage Quest – Index to records available on CD ROM plus magazines, books and software.
  3. Google Scholar – Provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.
  4. Ancestry - Discover your ancestors with the world’s largest family history website.
  5. Grant Select - lists over 13000 grant opportunities, scholarship, fellowships and awards.
  6. For genealogy and local history inquiries go to the “Our Programs” menu and choose “Genealogy.”
